Starting up
Open with the whole thing already working.
You're opening a service business. You might have a crew lined up, a van, a licence, a first customer who said "call me when you're open". You have a date. You need to be findable, bookable and billable the day the doors open, and you don't want to spend your savings on the wrong thing first.
Adding a new line to a business that's already open? You're a founder for that line, and this page is yours too. Already open, and the old way is in the way? This is for you.
What has to exist the day you open
- A site that takes the first booking, not a brochure with a phone number on it.
- Somewhere that booking lands: the job, the quote, the invoice, the customer's details. One place, not an inbox and a spreadsheet.
- A way to be found by the people nearest you, measured from the first visitor, so you know which dollar brought which customer.
- Everything owned by you: the domain, the content, the code, the customer list.
One system, not four purchases
The things a new business buys one at a time — a site builder, a booking app, an invoicing tool, a per-user platform for every hire — each work, and none of them talk to each other. The three businesses in our case studies were paying to get out of exactly that: a per-user bill that rose with every hire, change orders lost because the paperwork was too slow to bother with, and accounting software nobody liked. You can start without it.
What we've built
You'd be one of the first founders we take from a blank page to open. Everything below is what we've already built for businesses that were running — which is what you'll need on day one.
- Forging Solutions' site takes a dumpster booking — the dates, a signed agreement, the payment — and lands it in the software that runs the job.
- White Shovel's estimate form feeds straight into their own operations software.
- For a care business, where licensing wants the files from the first hire, we've built software designed to check each document against the applicant's own records and assemble the audit file on demand.
The smallest system that runs the first job
We scope to what day one needs and build the rest when the work calls for it. We bid the job: one written estimate — scope, price, deadline — before a dime moves. What we build, you own.
One builder, and you talk to the builder. We still don't take price shoppers, anyone hunting cheap and quick, or anyone who wants a vendor to manage rather than a builder to trust.
Why one system
The site brings the lead, the software runs the job, and the marketing sends more of both. It's easiest to build that way before the first customer, not after the hundredth.
Tell us what you're launching
What you're opening, when, and what has to work on day one, in your own words. Or book twenty minutes and talk it through with the builder.
We'll call you within one business day.
